Miss Tarzy Continues Top Form

Progressive Miss Tarzy has been in grand touch this preparation and the Tarzino mare continued her rich run of form at Moonee Valley.

The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained mare was successful over 2040 metres and has now posted a brace of wins and two runner-up finishes from her last four appearances.

Miss Tarzy jumped well to sit on the leader’s quarters and extended impressively for a dominant victory in the hands of Ben Allen.

“The team have got her flying and I ride her last prep in a Benchmark 58 and if you told me she was going to be running a favourite at Moonee Valley I would have laughed, but since they have taken the head gear off she has really improved,” he said.

“She gave me a beautiful ride, she jumped well and I kept it pretty simple and she won nicely.

“She has improved mentally, she could get quite hot earlier, but she relaxed beautifully outside the leader and was too good.”

Bred and raced by Rosemont Stud, Miss Tarzy is a daughter of the well-bred French-bred mare Grise Leigh.

She is a half-sister to the G1 Criterium de Saint Cloud winner Morandi with G1 Royal Ascot Queen Anne Stakes winner Lord Glitters also a decorated family member.
