Cross Continues to Deliver

A tried-and-true breeding pattern has added another promising type to its ranks with the Pakenham success of Dreamstone.

The Harvey-bred daughter of El Roca is out of the Encosta De Lago mare Saffron Hill and is bred on the identical cross to multiple winners including Norwegian Bliss, Nom De Plume, Encierro, Mega Bourbon and Landry.

Dreamstone is trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr and had finished runner-up on her home track at Cranbourne in the spring before she was put aside to develop.

She returned over 1400 metres at Pakenham where she sat outside the leader and when rider Blaike McDougall asked her to lengthen stride she responded in style to surge clear.

Dreamstone was purchased out of Westbury’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $20,000 with bloodstock agent Phill Cataldo and Price signing the ticket.

The Group 1-winning siblings Bonanova, Fraternity and Telesto feature in the pedigree.
