Ace Of Diamonds has opened his black-type account at Kranji and trainer Ricardo Le Grange is confident the Westbury Stud graduate can also be a major player in upcoming age group features.

The three-year-old son of Swiss Ace won for the fourth time when he claimed the Group 3 Singapore Sprint on Saturday evening in the hands of Brazilian jockey Bruno Queiroz.

“He’s (Ace Of Diamond) probably as good as I thought he is,” Le Grange said.

“He did it a bit tough, the draw was not ideal and I brought him back from 1400 metres, so I had to freshen him up and put some speed into his legs.

“So, I thought he would be strong, which he was. I think both the 3YO Classic (G2, 1400m) and the Guineas (G2, 1600m) will be well within his reach.

“We will just keep training him now as per normal, keep him safe and out of harm’s way.”

For Querioz, Ace Of Diamonds provided him with his most prestigious success since arriving in Singapore eight months ago.

They were caught four wide from an outside barrier before striding to the front 300 metres from home and stayed on strongly to score by a comfortable length.

“I’m very happy as I didn’t have a Group win in Singapore and this was perfect,” Querioz said.

“The horse was very well. A good job by Ricardo and the stable.”

Ace Of Diamonds was purchased out of Westbury Stud’s 2022 draft at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale for A$100,000 by Sandy Javier.

A half-brother to four winners including Group performer Moeraki, he is a son of the More Than Ready mare Go Kate Go who has produced a daughter and son of Swiss Ace since Ace Of Diamonds and is in foal to Tarzino.

The dam is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Kakakakatie and the family of elite level-winning siblings Bonanova, Fraternity and Telesto.
