Reliable Man’s French-bred son Sirius Black is clearly loving life in Australia.
The handsome entire has delivered three wins and has yet to miss a top four placing from his six appearances for trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace.
His latest success at Moonee Valley on Friday evening over 1600 metres emphasised both his talent and will to win.
Sirius Black was caught three and four wide from an outside barrier before he worked to the front 800 metres from home.
The five-year-old was hotly pursued and still found a kick off the bend to stay on strongly under 62kg and score by a length.
“Moonee Valley suits him and he’s in great form, he’s still a stallion and really enjoying his racing,” winning rider Jamie Mott said.
“He had a bit of work to do early to get to the front and then he cruised along and it was a great effort. He’s a magnificent horse and beautiful to ride.”
The grey placed in all three of his runs in France is out of the German-bred Manduro mare Séance who is a half-sister to the G1 Grosser Preis Von Bayern winner Sunny Queen and the family of the former champion French filly and multiple top-flight winner Stacelita.
