Reliable Ruby is blessed with abundant pace and she again emphasised that at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.
The Gerry Harvey-bred daughter of Reliable Man completed successive course and distance victories when she cut out 1000 metres on a Soft 6 track in 58.4s.
Trained by Chris Munce, Reliable Ruby raced one off the fence in midfield before rider Damien Thornton peeled four wide 400 metres from home and the mare let down strongly to win with authority.
The five-year-old has now won four of her 17 starts was originally purchased out of Westbury Stud’s draft at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale for A$35,000. She is one of four winners for the stakes performed Not A Single Doubt mare Sweepstaking.
She is a sister to the multiple Malaysian stakes winner Mystic Power, who also gained black type in Australia as Tennessee Wills.
The pedigree page also features the Group 1 winners Malaguerra Darley Classic, BTC Cup), Aloha (Coolmore Classic), Seabrook (Champagne Stakes) and Cool Aza Beel (Diamond Stakes).
Sweepstaking has produced a filly and a colt in the last two seasons to El Roca and is again in foal to the stakes-winning son of Fastnet Rock.
