Polylithic a Serial Winner

Swiss Ace’s powerful son Polylithic has continued his golden run of form with further success at Ipswich on Saturday.

The Gerry Harvey-bred sprinter completed a hat-trick of wins for trainer Mark Currie with another sharp display over 800 metres.

The six-year-old was trapped three wide near the pace and he wasn’t to be denied in the run home, digging deep for apprentice Sariah Champkin under his 61kg to continue his winning ways.

Carrying hefty weights is nothing new for the chestnut, who had won three starts back under 60kg and then shouldered 63.5kg in his lead-up to Ipswich.

He has now posted seven victories from his 22 appearances and 12 placings is a further reflection of his short-course talent and consistency.

Polylithic is a son of the late Rock Of Gibraltar mare Monolith Miss, whose dam is a sister to the G2 Peter Pan Stakes winner and sire Magic Albert, and her half-brother Go The Knuckle won the G2 Centrebet Classic.

Monolith Miss’ half-sister Hieroglyphics also produced the Harvey-bred Zoustar filly Egyptian Queen, who was stakes placed in the Listed O’Leary’s Fillies’ Classic and produced a terrific run to finish third in Saturday’s G3 Almanzor Trophy at Ellerslie after missing the start.
