Patience Finally Rewarded

Good things come to those who wait as the connections of Golden Way found to their delight at Kranji.

The six-year-old son of Swiss Ace belatedly broke his maiden in Singapore on Saturday evening following four minor placings including two runner-up finishes.

Golden Way had run fourth at his previous appearance for trainer Tan Kah Soon and was successful over 1000 metres in the hands of Carlos Henrique.

Bred by Gerry Harvey, Golden Way was originally sold by Westbury Stud at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale for $110,000 to Cliff Brown, who prepared him for his first two starts before he relocated back to Victoria.

The gelding is a son of the Belong To Me Mare Musically who was successful on three occasions up to 1100 metres.

She is a half-sister to the G2 Yallambee Stakes and Listed Schweppes Stakes winner Magically with their dam the two-time Group 2 winner Magic Music.

Musically has done a good job at stud with seven winners, including Golden Way’s brother January who was successful in the Listed Singapore 3YO Sprint.

The mare has an unraced three-year-old colt by Swiss Ace and is back in foal to the Group 1-winning son of Secret Savings.
