Long-serving Westbury Stud stallion Swiss Ace made his presence felt in Hong Kong on Sunday evening.
Retired to the farm in 2010, the G1 Oakleigh Plate-winning son of Secret Savings was represented by the 1400 metre winner Lost Child and a pair of minor placegetters from three runners on the card.
The Gerry Harvey-bred and sold Lost Child settled toward the back of the field before Brenton Avdulla improved their position near the turn.
The Michael Chang-trained four-year-old produced a sustained finishing burst to sail clear in the closing 200 metres and score for the second time in his career.
Lost Child was initially bought out of Westbury Stud’s 2021 Ready to Run Sale draft by Queensland horsewoman Kacy Fogden for $40,000 and trialled twice at the Gold Coast before relocating to Hong Kong.
He is a son of the General Nediym mare Loch Leven, whose grand-dam Tartan Tights won twice at Group 1 level in the New Zealand Oaks and New Zealand 1000 Guineas.
Four of Loch Leven’s five foals to race have been successful and she has a yearling colt by El Roca.
