Casa Cosmo Strikes in Hong Kong

The well-related Casa Cosmo has belatedly opened his winning account in Hong Kong.

The Gerry Harvey-bred son of Tavistock broke his duck for trainer Jamie Richards on Saturday evening when he was successful over 1800 metres at Sha Tin under jockey Antoine Hamelin.

Casa Cosmo went through the Magic Millions sale ring as a yearling and two-year-old before he joined the Cranbourne stable of Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young.

Racing then as Benczkowski, he won races at Wangaratta and Moonee Valley before his sale to Hong Kong interests.

He is a half-brother to the Sir Patrick Hogan Karapiro Classic winner Wallen with their dam the unraced More Than Ready mare Nouveau Amour.

She is a half-sister to the Listed Hareeba Stakes winner Jolie Blonde and they are granddaughters of the G1 Champagne Stakes winner Isolda.

Nouveau Amour produced a daughter to Tarzino last year and is in foal to Redwood.
