Walk In The Woods has fashioned a tidy record from limited opportunities and he again showed his staying talent when successful at Donald.
The Gerry Harvey-bred and raced son of resident Westbury Stud stallion Redwood is prepared by Tom Dabernig, whose conditioning skills were further highlighted by his charge’s success on Saturday.
The four-year-old had finished fourth when resuming off a four-month break and he stepped up to a middle distance to score over 2200 metres for rider Fred Kersley.
Walk In The Woods was quickly into stride to make the running and, after putting the pressure on before the turn, he careered away to score by three and three-quarter lengths.
He has now won twice from nine appearances with a further four minor placings.
Passed in as a yearling at the Magic Millions Sale, Walk In The Woods is a son of the unraced Galileo mare Lunar Walk.
She is a half-sister to the G2 Pago Pago Stakes winner Viscount and the Group 3 winners Play Around and Kid George.
Lunar Walk has an unraced two-year-old filly by Tarzino and is in foal to associate Westbury stallion, Reliable Man.
