The Tony Pike-trained Revuelto produced a strong performance to open his winning account in trying conditions at Pukekohe Park.
The son of Westbury Stud resident Reliable Man has showed pleasing improvement through his brief career and capped off the smart start eh has made with success on Sunday over 1400 metres in the hands of Ryan Elliot.
Revuelto drifted off the pace before he began to pick up ground 600 metres from home and he came with a sustained finishing bid to sail clear and score by a length and a-half.
The three-year-old’s effort came as no surprise as he had put the writing on the wall at his previous outing on the course when he boxed on strongly to finish runner-up.
Revuelto was bred by Graeme Rogerson and Denise Howell and sold through Westbury’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $50,000 with Enigma Farm and Upper Bloodstock signing the ticket.
He was subsequently offered by Ohukia Lodge at the Ready to Run Sale at Karaka and was knocked down to Waikato Bloodstock for $110,000.
Revuelto is a son of the Keeper mare Stage Door, who has since produced a daughter and son of Ferrando, and she was successful on two occasions up to 1400 metres.
Stage Door is out of a half-sister to the two-time Group 3 winner Mr Ubiquitous and to the dam of the G1 Australian Derby winner Jon Snow, whose sister Princess Rhaenys has a victory in the Listed Tatt’s Gold Crown to her credit.
