A sense of timing about Kadavar was realised at Rosehill where the progressive four-year-old added to his winning record.
The son of Westbury Stud resident Tarzino had improved with each outing this preparation and on Saturday capped his form with a dominant victory over 2400 metres.
Bred by Gerry Harvey, Kadavar had been in behind the major players in his first two outings before he finished runner-up over Warwick Farm.
The gelding settled three back on the fence under Joao Moreira and enjoyed a good run into the straight and forged clear before an easy run to the post to score by a length.
“I thought he was a bit unlucky not to win last start,” Waller’s Racing Manager Charlie Duckworth said.
“He was stepping up in distance and grade, which isn’t easy, but he got a beautiful run through and then when he had to be strong late and dig deep, he did that very well.”
He is putting together a tidy CV with four victories and three placings from just 11 appearances.
Raced by Neville Morgan and Davd Devine, Kadavar was purchased out of Westbury Stud’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sales for $300,000 with Waller and Mulcaster Bloodstock signing the ticket.
He is a son of the Danehill Dancer mare Arapaho Miss who was a class act on the track with her career highlight a victory in the G1 VRC Oaks and has been outstanding at stud with her daughter Miami Bound also winning the Flemington fillies’ Classic.
She is also the dam of the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes winner Da Little Engine.
Arapaho Miss has an unraced two-year-old colt by Reliable Man and had a filly by Tarzino last year before a return visit.
