Family horse Holy Racket has made an explosive start to his four-year-old campaign.
The Gerry Harvey-bred son of Swiss Ace resumed over 955 metres at Moonee Valley on Friday evening and impressively accounted for a competitive line-up of Benchmark 84 sprinters.
Swiss Ace also enjoyed success in Hong Kong on Sunday evening with Harold Win opening his account over 1200 metres for trainer Francis Lui and jockey Andrea Atzeni.
Holy Racket was ridden by top jockey Craig Williams for his father Allan and brother Jason and settled fifth on the fence before angling into the clear before the turn and then rounded off strongly in the run home.
Holy Racket hadn’t raced since May but had been given two lead-up trials on his home course at Cranbourne to fit him for his return.
The gelding’s success took his record to five wins and four placings from his 13 appearances.
“All credit to my brother Jason and father Allan as the horse was first-up,” Williams said.
“They picked this race out a while ago and he had the right draw and delivered.”
Holy Racket is raced by the Hong Kong-based Price Bloodstock and was a A$120,000 purchase at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale where he was offered through Westbury Stud’s draft.
The chestnut is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Katie’s Choice, a daughter of the multiple black- type winner Kakakakatie, who is a half-sister to the multiple winners and stakes performers Sebrakate and Quattro Katie.
Katie’s Choice’s Reliable Man colt sold to agent John Foote for A$95,000 at the Gold Coast earlier this year and she had a Hello Youmzain filly last season and is due to foal to Redwood.
Meanwhile, Harold Win is a brother to Singapore stakes winner January with their dam Musically, who has an unraced Swiss Ace juvenile colt and is due to foal again to the son of Secret Savings, a half-sister by Belong To Me to the G2 Yallambee Classic winner Magically.
Westbury sold Harold Win through their Ready to Run Sale draft to Upper Bloodstock for $255,000.
