Greg Eurell is the first to admit that Sparkle Link is far from the finished product but is also equally adamant she is fine staying prospect who will continue to improve with time.

The Cranbourne trainer produced the lightly raced daughter of Reliable Man to win for the second time in her nine-start career when successful on the Lakeside course at Sandown this afternoon.

The Gerry Harvey-bred Sparkle Link had strung together five top four finishes before she outstayed her rivals over 2400 metres.

“It’s been a bit difficult this time and things haven’t really gone her way, she’s a work in progress and is very tough and sound,” Eurell said.

“She doesn’t lack attitude, can certainly stay and is going to get better and better.”

Sparkle Link relaxed well in second spot before rider Craig Williams let her loose across the top.

The four-year-old was in front before the turn and held a strong gallop to the post to win by a comfortable length.

Sparkle Link was offered by Westbury Stud at New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale at Karaka where was knocked down to Mattmartin Global, of Victoria, for $60,000.

She is a half-sister to the six-time winner and G1 Easter Handicap runner-up Trojan Warrior and the promising Old Bill Bone, who has won twice and placed three times from five appearances.

Their dam is the Helissio mare Trojan Lass who hails from the family of the Group winners nd elite level performers Ponton Flyer and Bank Robber.

Trojan Lass won on three occasions and last season produced a brother to Sparkle Link.
