Reliable Man 3YO Opens Account

Promising filly Eternal Romance kept her dam’s perfect record at stud when she broke her maiden in a driving finish at Albany on Sunday.

The Daniel and Ben Pearce-trained daughter of Westbury Stud’s Reliable Man was third-up over 1600 metres and the three-year-old came from back in the field to triumph at her third outing this preparation.

Rider Tash Faithfull played a waiting game back of midfield aboard the grey filly before making a move with across the top.

They circled runners out wide and, despite racing greenly, Eternal Romance finished determinedly to open her winning account.

The filly was bred by Gerry Harvey and is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Flower Of Love, whose only other foal to race is the four-time winner Shot Of Romance.

Eternal Romance was offered by Westbury at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale and knocked down to Pearce Racing for $75,000 with Harvey remaining in the ownership group.

Her dam Flower Of Love is out of a half-sister to stakes winners Spurtonic (G3 David Jones Cup) and Carnegie House (G3 Frank Packer Plate) and she has a yearling filly by Redwood and a daughter of Tarzino before a return visit.
