Red Dragon bounced back to his best form at Kranji on Sunday evening when he posted an upset victory over 1700 metres.
The Westbury Stud graduate struck again after he had been a winner three runs back before two under par performances.
The son of resident sire Redwood is trained by Mahadi Taib and was guided to the seventh victory of his Singapore career by Carlos Henrique.
Red Dragon was sold by Westbury at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale where he was knocked down to trainer Steven Ramsay for $20,000.
He subsequently made his way to Singapore after realising $45,000 at the Ready to Run Sale where he was offered by Riverrock Farm.
He is a son of the late Danehill mare Wandane, who won on two occasions in Australia, and she is out of a sister to the G1 Golden Slipper Stakes winner and successful sire Marauding.
It is also the family of the four-time Group 1 winner Sacred Choice.
Eight of Wandane’s nine foals to race have been successful, including the dam of the Listed Albury Gold Cup winner Harmony Rose.
