Lightly raced Redwood five-year-old The Prophet showed he had a bright future over ground when he romped to victory on Saturday.
The Cody Cole-trained gelding impressively completed a Trentham double in style for breeder-owner Gerry Harvey, whose colours were earlier carried to victory by Wingman.
The Prophet was stepping up to a middle distance for the first time and he was untroubled to blitz his Rating 65 rivals by three and a-half lengths.
“He’s learning with racing and doing it all on raw ability,” Cole said. “It was nice to see him relax and he won with plenty up his sleeve.
“It’s a big straight and he had plenty of time to wind up. He’s taken a while to put it all together and that was another step in the right direction.
“He does have a good constitution and the team at Westbury Stud have been very patient.”
The Prophet loped along back of midfield before edging closer across the top and once into the clear, he lengthened stride to win with authority despite racing greenly.
“He fell asleep and came up nicely under me 600 metres out and did it easily,” rider Sam Weatherley said.
The Prophet is the last foal of the late Conatus mare Telepathy, who also produced the Listed ATC Cup winner and multiple Group placegetter Telepathic.
