Massive Result in Hong Kong

Massive Action produced a gallant front-running performance to enjoy further success at Sha Tin in Hong Kong.

The son of Westbury Stud’s Reliable Man broke well to lead for Dylan Mo and roll along at the head of affairs and he kicked strongly to claim top honours in Friday evening’s Class 3 event over 1650 metres.

Trained by Frankie Lor, he has now won four races and the second of his current campaign.

“I’m very thankful for the owner and trainer for giving me the ride again,” Mo said.

“I just try my best to get winners. This season has been a little bit hard, but I try very hard to get more support and more wins.”

Massive Action was bred by Wellingtonian Daryl Burrow and was unbeaten in two appearances for Cambridge trainer Tony Pike before relocating to Hong Kong.

He is a son of the Stravinsky mare Classical who is a half-sister to the Queensland stakes winner Game On.

Meanwhile in Singapore, freshened Swiss Ace four-year-old Groovy returned winning ways in Class 4 company over 1200 metres for trainer Richard Lim and jockey Mohd Zaki.

He dropped back from a wide barrier and swooped late for the fifth win of his career.

“My instruction from Richard, who I have to thank for supporting me, was to ride back. So, I had to ride him for luck,” Zaki said.

“He was off the bit early and never travelled well, so I thought we had no chance, but I kept on pushing him and when he hit the home straight, he had a burst which surprised me.”

Groovy was purchased out of Lilywhites Lodge’s New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale draft and is out of the winning Captain Rio mare Kahala, who is from the family of multiple Group 1 winner Silent Achiever.
