The dependable Go Lotte continues to prove an outstanding money spinner for trainer Kelvin Tyler.
The Gerry Harvey-bred mare posted a hollow victory at Wingatui on Sunday, putting away the open-class sprinters over 1400 metres.
She was ridden by Yogesh Atchamah, who later guided the Westbury Stud graduate Toblerone to victory in a maiden contest over the same trip.
A daughter of Telperion, Go Lotte settled a clear last before pulling out wide near the turn and she quickly reeled in her rivals and forged clear to score by two lengths.
Go Lotte has now won seven races and more than $135,000 and a grand return on the $1500 Tyler parted with to buy her at the 2020 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale.
She is out of the Red Giant mare Ashima, a granddaughter of the G1 Melbourne Cup and G1 Auckland Cup winner Jezabeel.
Ashima is also the dam of an unraced two-year-old filly by Tarzino and has subsequently produced two colts by the Westbury Stud resident and is again in foal to the Group 1-winning son of Tavistock.
Toblerone had previously placed on four occasions from Debbie Sweeney’s stable before relocating south to Danny Crozier’s Riccarton quarters.
The daughter of Swiss Ace settled midfield and progressed wide around runners 800 metres from home to be third on the turn and finished off gallantly in the straight.
She was bought out of Westbury’s Ready to Run Sale draft by Bryan Black, who remains in the ownership, for $32,000.
Her dam is the General Nediym mare Gaynor, from the family of Listed Albury Cup winner and Group 1 performer Harmony Rose, and she has an unraced juvenile brother to Toblerone and a yearling sister.
