Homebred Too Good at Rosehill

Freegoer Too Much Caviar has wasted little time in adding to his record this preparation following a convincing victory at Rosehill.

The Gerry Harvey-bred son of All Too Hard had finished runner-up when resuming from a break over 1200 metres at Canterbury early last month and he showed the benefit of that outing on Saturday.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained representative was ridden by Nash Rawiller and enjoyed a sweet trip over 1500 metres.

Too Much Caviar broke well to make the early running before settling in the trail and was too strong for his Benchmark 78 rivals after taking charge 200 metres from home.

“That was a fantastic win, he dropped in behind and got a bit of cover and then loomed up strongly,” Bott said.

“He’s the sharpest we’ve seen since he’s come back, he’s getting older and he’s getting faster.”

Rawiller had partnered Too Much Caviar in his lead-up second and was confident of another top showing.

“He out the writing on the wall the other day at Canterbury and to his credit, the further they went the more comfortable he got,” he said.

“He is a very fit horse so well done to all the team.”

He has been relatively lightly raced for a seven-year-old and has collected five victories and nine placings from his 26 appearances with his stake earnings now topping A$500,000.

Too Much Caviar was purchased out of Westbury Stud’s draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale by Waterhouse and Blueblood Thoroughbreds for A$85,000 and is a son of the More Than Ready mare More Caviar.

A daughter of two-time Group 1 winner Lotteria, Too More Caviar is from the family of the former Singapore Horse of the Year The Inferno.

She has an unraced three-year-old filly by Redwood named Natoya, a juvenile colt by Tarzino and is due to foal again to Redwood.
