Great Return from Savabeel 3YO

Great Aspirations made a cracking return to racing when he powered to victory over 1000 metres at the Sunshine Coast.

The well-bred son of Savabeel hadn’t raced since finishing sixth on debut on the course in his spring debut, but trainer Tony Gollan had him in prime order to resume off the back of a trial success at Doomben.

Ridden by Ryan Moloney, the three-year-old was in behind the leading pack at the top of the straight and finished powerfully once into the clear over the closing 150 metres.

Great Expectations was bred by Gerry Harvey and sold under the Westbury Stud banner at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for A$220,000 to Grant Morgan’s OnTrack Syndications.

He is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Eau De Parfum, a half-sister to the G2 Queensland Guineas winner Sambro with their dam Eau De Joie a half-sister tot eh G1 Golden Slipper Stakes winner Polar Success.

In foal to Tarzino, Eau De Parfum has an unraced juvenile sister to Great Expectations and her Tarzino colt was sold at the Gold Coast this year to Alexander Racing and Rogers Bloodstock for A$260,000.
