Shot Of Whiskey returned to winning ways at Eagle Farm to further his tidy record from limited appearances.
The Matthew Hoysted-trained son of Spirit Of Boom, who was bred by Gerry Harvey, was quickly into stride and enjoyed an uncontested lead.
He surged clear into the straight and kicked strongly for rider Justin Stanley to score with a good degree of authority at the end of 1200 metres.
Shot Of Whiskey has now won as a two, three and four-year-old with four career victories and three placings from 12 appearances.
He is the first foal of the Redoute’s Choice mare Flower Of Love, a two-time winner, and was sold by Westbury Stud to Proven Thoroughbreds and O’Dea and Hoysted Racing for A$150,000.
His younger half-sister by Reliable Man was purchased by Western Australia’s Pearce Racing for $75,000 at last year’s New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale.
Flower Of Love has an unraced two-year-old filly by Redwood and is due to foal to Tarzino.
She is out of a half-sister to the G3 Frank Packer Plate winner Carnegie House and to the G3 David Jones Cup winner Spurtonic while the third dam is the multiple Group 2 winner and Group 1 placegetter Startling Lass.
