The Stylist Steps Up to Black Type Company

21 February

Swiss Ace mare The Stylist has been in excellent form this preparation and will make her foray into black type company at Caulfield tomorrow when she lines up in the A$160,000 Group 3 Premier Signs Mannerism Stakes for Fillies and Mares over 1400m.

Trained and part-owned by Deanne Taylor, The Stylist had good form behind talented racemares Fidelia and Neighbourhood at Flemington during her last preparation. Her strong finishing burst for second at Flemington at her most recent start over 1200m suggests the distance of the Mannerism will be right up her alley.

The Stylist is a half-sister to Aalaalune, and to this season’s smart juvenile De La Terre, while a win on Saturday would escalate her value significantly from a breeding perspective in the future. Bred by Gerry Harvey, The Stylist was a A$35,000 yearling purchase for Waratah Thoroughbreds at the 2017 Magic Millions National Sale.

Another Swiss Ace mare in a rich vein of form at the moment is the John Bary-trained Heart of Stone who will be looking for her third win succession when she contests the $30,000 Cavallo Farm & Chris Rutten Bloodstock Handicap over 1200m at Otaki tomorrow.

Heart of Stone has been a model of consistency in her career to date with 3 wins and 4 placings from her 8 starts, and the form around her last start where she finished strongly to defeat Master Park and impressive Ellerslie winner Red Chois, indicating a bold showing can be expected tomorrow.
