Miami Bound Set to Return in Group 2 Autumn Classic

21 February

VRC Oaks winner Miami Bound makes her return to the racetrack this Saturday when she contests in the A$200,000 Group 2 Heritage Finance Caulfield Autumn Classic over 1800m at Caulfield. The daughter of Reliable Man has not raced since notching up an impressive Wakeful Stakes/VRC Oaks double during the Flemington Carnival in the Spring and it will be an excellent training effort by Danny O’Brien to have her primed to win over 1800m first up in this preparation.

Miami Bound is a warm $2.50 favourite with Sportsbet365 which suggests she is well tuned for the 1800m journey. Second elect in the race is the Lindsey Smith-trained Adelaide Ace (Savabeel) who finished third to Microphone (Exceed and Excel) and Banquo (Written Tycoon) at his last start over 1400m, while Grahame Begg trainee, Nonconformist (Rebel Raider), is the third favourite after winning his last two starts.

A daughter of VRC Oaks victor Arapaho Miss, Miami Bound has won 4 of her 7 career starts to date and amassed more than A$887,000 in stakes, and safely through Saturday she is likely to have one more start in Melbourne before travelling to Sydney to begin an Autumn campaign which is likely to include the ATC Oaks at Randwick. Regular rider Damien Oliver will take the mount in tomorrow’s Autumn Classic.

Miami Bound was bred by Gerry Harvey and has a full brother about to be weaned on the farm, while her dam Arapaho Miss carries a positive test to exciting young sire Tarzino.
