Inferno Resumes in Singapore on Saturday
The high class three-year-old Inferno will return to the races on Saturday when he steps out in the S$70,000 Super Easy 2013 Stakes over 1200m in Singapore.
Unbeaten in his four starts to date, Inferno will use Saturday’s race as a stepping stone to winning an unprecedented second Saas Fee Stakes Gr.3 in the one season. The Saas Fee Stakes for three-year-olds is one of the features on the Singapore catalogue and for the first time will be run for the second time in the course of the same racing season after it was decided to move the race from November to April.
Inferno won the November edition of the S$175,000 Saas Fee easily when taking his record to four wins from four starts, and the son of Holy Roman Emperor is thought by many to be the rising star in Singapore racing as he has yet to be tested in his career to date. Trainer Cliff Brown gave Inferno a “clean out” last week when he trialled at Kranji and showed he had lost none of his customary turn of foot when coming from well back to sprint past his rivals under regular rider Michael Rodd.
Inferno was a $140,000 purchase from the Westbury draft by his trainer Cliff Brown at Karaka, and races in the same colours as the wonderful performer Debt Collector who won more than A$3,000,000 in stakes and was Singapore Horse of the Year in 2016.
